I have tried a lot of gaming headphones over the years, and to be honest you do not always get what you pay for. The cheap ones are usually too plasticy and the expensive ones never really live up to the hype. Having spent hundreds of dollars on all sorts of gaming headphones, I grew a little disenchanted by the whole thing and didn’t want to sink a bunch of money into another pair. So, I randomly picked the Sentry Pro-Gaming headphone one day while shopping. I didn’t read any reviews and have never heard of the company before but the price was right – so I decided to take a chance. Overall I was pleasantly surprised and kind of impressed with how good these turned out to be for a relatively inexpensive headset. I am no audio snob but these things sound really good. I’ve actually been using them to listen to music too.

There are a few key features that stand out on this headphone in particular for me. One, is the retractable microphone. It’s just cool and allows me to use the headphones while listening to music without looking like I work in a call center. The second reason I like these is the earpads. They are huge! But not in a bad way. After a few hours or so with my old headphones I would really start to feel the earpads. Maybe it is just the shape of my head but these feel more comfortable overall. I am mainly a PC guy, but they also work with my Xbox. It’s only been a few weeks but the build quality is solid so I don’t really see them breaking.
